There are 3 things you need to have experienced before you can call yourself a fully fledged London blogger…
1 | Having your photo taken on a quaint wisteria covered street
2 | Boomerang’ing a Prosecco toast with fellow bloggers
3 | Dining at Dalloway Terrace.
It seems the Bloomsbury Hotel’s alfresco secret garden isn’t quite so secret, because every Tom, Dick and Harry the infamous influencer have enjoyed a breezy brunch at Dalloway Terrace.
Well call me a sheep but I had to know? Why was everyone swooning?
So on a perfectly sunny Sunday, I ran out of reasons to put off a trip to this disgusting looking place and booked myself in for a brunch with my bestie.
I don’t feel the need to do a full blown review. Because if you’re here, I can confidently say you’ll have read one, or five. In fact I’d bet my next brunch location on it (oooo new idea blogger has her readers vote for her next restaurant booking… what will it be? Copyrighting that shit).
So instead I’m swooning too. That’s the only way to describe the behaviour of every human (and probably creature) that enters Dalloway Terrace. Everywhere you look there’ll be at least one pair of eyes melting over the marble.
The interiors are what you call #interiorgoals. Me and Beth quite literally sat there fantasising about conservatories we never knew that we wanted. About foliage covered brickwork we’d never yet considered.
Oh right yes food.
We started with some juices from the aptly named ‘Juicery’, created to serve expertly made healthy drinks that are damn delicious.
My ‘London Greens’ was a re-hydrating combination of pear, coconut water and some, well, greens. Beth’s blueberry coconut smoothie was packed full of berries, coconut oil and all that other natural stuff beauticians tell us to inject daily so that we stay young and wrinkle free.
What we lacked in a choice of alcoholic beverage we made up for in saturated fats. First a rather healthy dish each, just to warm up the stomach.
For me, some Dorset crab on toast with egg, watercress and apple. I don’t know what else you could order that would be fresher. The crab was a perfect creamy mix without being too salty, and the combination of thinly sliced apple, tomato and egg just made it a perfect dish to start the day.
Beth picked the Severn and Wye smoked salmon with poached eggs and Guiness brown bread. Man that bread. I believe I ate a slice from the same loaf. It was seedy and spongy and just god damn delicious.
Okay healthy-ish food out the way. Bring on the truffle Parmesan fries! Oh yes. Truffle should come with everything, don’t you agree?
Oh but wait, read on, we had room for more. After all, its not brunch without something sweet?
Soft french toast, topped with crisp sweet-cured bacon and drizzled in maple syrup. Are you drooling? Be honest. Because I am.
